Variation Order
A variation order is a court order that changes an earlier order.
In family cases, either parent or spouse can apply to change orders on custody, maintenance or access. You must show a real change in circumstances since the order was made, or that the order was based on a mistake or misrepresentation (Sections 83 and 96 of Act 164).
Why it matters: court orders are not fixed forever. If your income, the child’s needs or your situation changes, you can ask the court to review them.
