Garnishee Order

A garnishee order is a court order telling a third party, such as a bank or an employer, to pay money it owes the person who owes you (the judgment debtor) straight to you (the judgment creditor).

It is often used to enforce a maintenance order when the paying spouse stops paying.

Why it matters: you do not have to rely on your former spouse choosing to pay. The money can come directly from their bank or employer.
