Sole Custody
Sole custody means one parent is given legal custody of the child.
That parent makes the major decisions about the child’s upbringing and education (Section 89 of Act 164). The other parent usually has access, meaning set times to see the child.
Why it matters: sole custody affects who decides on school, health and religion, and how often the other parent sees the child.
