Direct Contribution
A direct contribution is money you paid directly towards getting a matrimonial asset. Examples:
- paying part of the purchase price
- paying the housing loan instalments
- paying for renovation
Why it matters: when the court divides matrimonial property under Section 76 of Act 164, it looks at what each spouse contributed. Keep bank statements and receipts that show what you paid.
