Mediation

Mediation is a voluntary process. A neutral person, called a mediator, helps both spouses talk and reach agreement on the issues they disagree about.

It is not compulsory for divorce in Malaysia. Courts encourage it as an alternative to fighting the case in court.

Why it matters: agreeing through mediation can save time, cost and stress, and keep decisions in your own hands.
