Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara (JPN)
JPN stands for Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara, Malaysia’s National Registration Department.
It registers births, deaths, marriages and divorces. It also runs the Marriage Tribunal, which tries to reconcile couples before a contested divorce.
Why it matters: you will deal with JPN for your marriage records, and often for the reconciliation step before a divorce.
