Joint Petition
A joint petition is a divorce application that both spouses file together. It is made under Section 52 of Act 164.
Both of you agree to end the marriage. You also agree on matters such as custody, maintenance and how to divide property.
Why it matters: if you and your spouse agree, a joint petition is usually simpler than one spouse filing alone.
