Injunction
An injunction is a court order that tells a person to do something, or to stop doing something.
In divorce cases, injunctions are often used to:
- stop a spouse from selling or hiding assets (a Mareva injunction)
- stop a spouse from taking a child out of the country
- stop harassment
Section 103 of Act 164 also lets the court order a spouse or former spouse to stop molesting the other.
Why it matters: if you fear your spouse will move money or a child before the case ends, an injunction may help.
